This popular beach area has been a tourists playground for generations. Known for the Old Orchard Beach Pier that is the center piece of the beach, this long white sand beach stretches in both directions for miles. It’s beachside amusement park, Palace Playland, is great fun for the kid at heart.
Don’t worry if you forgot your sunglasses or towels, because the streets are lined with shops where you can get a new one and T-Shirts and sweatshirts to commemorate your trip and there are take out food joints where you can belly up on the street and grab a slab of pizza, fried dough or french fries.
Motels, Hotels and Condominiums overlook the Atlantic Ocean and there are beachside bars and restaurants where you can grab a meal or beverage while still working on your tan. The Amtrak Downeaster stops near the beach so you can even ride up from Boston or points south.
