Kennebunkport is a thriving tourist destination and we locals like to get there once in awhile, too. Kennebunk’s Lower Village and Kennebunkport’s Dock Square are located on opposite sides of the Kennebunk River as it flows to the Atlantic Ocean.
Shop till you drop at the boutiques and galleries and eat at one of the many great restaurants or grab a lobster roll to go at the Clam Shack on the Kennebunk side of the bridge. Grab a Shipyard Ale at Federal Jack’s – on the Kennebunk side – at the place where it all started. Drive down to take in the views and sit on the deck at the Cape Porpoise Lobster Company or The Ramp – Pier 77. So many places to eat- you should stay a week or maybe longer just to make sure you get to them all!
And I almost forgot to mention Kennebunkport’s famous summer residents – George and Barbara – they live at that house on the water that sticks out on Walkers Point off Ocean Ave, north of Cape Arundel.
