Albany Township

Albany is an Unorganized township in the Western Maine Foothills, located just south of Bethel.The headwaters of the Crooked River flow from Songo Pond as it makes it’s journey to Sebago Lake. The area has been long known for producing gemstones of Amethyst, Beryl and Tourmaline from it’s Bumpus and Songo Pond Mines (both Private Property). Access to the Patte Brook area of the white Mountain National Forest is from Rt.5/35 near Songo Pond.
