When most people think of Portland, they think of what we call “Intown Portland” which is a peninsula that lies along the Fore River and overlooks both Casco Bay and Back Bay.  The historic Old Port and the Arts District make up the heart of the city and are surrounded by the East End overlooking Casco Bay and the West End which looks out toward the Western Foothills  of Maine and the White Mountains  of New Hampshire. ( And yes, that is Mount Washington you can see in the distance.)

Located north and west of I-295 are the outlying neighborhoods of Deering, East Deering, North Deering, Woodford’s Corner, Morrill’s Corner, Rosemont, Stroudwater and Riverton. And if you like the thought of exploring or living on an island, there’s Peaks, Cushing, Great Diamond, Little Diamond and  a few others calling your name.

Portland is known for it’s vibrant Arts and Music Scene, Restaurants and Nightlife, world class Portland Museum of Art,  and is a popular destination throughout the entire year.

The ocean is on our doorstep, there’s a ton of outdoors recreation opportunities and the Greater Portland area is the economic hub of Southern Maine for anyone looking to work, live and play in this exciting environment. There’s beaches and mountains just a short drive away, shopping and gastronomic delights everywhere, light houses and foghorns singing in the fog, seagulls flying overhead, and  seals swimming in the harbor.
