Cumberland is both rural and suburban in character. There are wonderful rolling hills and farmland, forests, rivers and streams and Cumberland also borders Casco Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. You’ll find everything from old farm houses with acreage, to family neighborhoods and subdivisions to gated communities and large family oceanside estates . It’s an easy commute to the Greater Portland area and a very nice community to live in.

The Cumberland Fair happens the 4th week of September each year. The fairgrounds is also home to Harness Racing and other events such as the United Maine Craftsmen Cumberland Arts & Crafts Show.

The town runs a municipal golf course at Val Halla Golf and Recreation Center  and Twin Brooks Recreation Center is a 4 season facility of 250 acres with athletic fields and 4 miles of trails for year round use.
